Imperial chicken

From time immemorial, domiciled amid traditional mixed orchards, hilly vineyards, chestnut trees and mixed woodlands, the Sulmtaler chicken looks back in pride at its centuries-old past as an ambassador of taste of Southern Styria. Already beginning in the 17th century, it undertook its culinary campaign of conquest as a festive delicacy at all the great princely and imperial courts of Europe.
